House Rules
We encourage you to openly express the true nature of your experience and freely share your ideas, views and opinions as regards various topics. On the other hand, we also ask you follow certain rules and regulations to maintain this forum's positive goal and atmosphere.
First, respect others. Each is entitled to their own opinion and stand but negativity or explicit defamation of other people's opinion is another matter. Trolling, swearing, name calling, insults, slurs, or personal attacks carried through topics, replies or even the private messages (PM's) are not welcome.
Second, no SPAM please. This is a forum exclusively created to bring the entire MDnet Bariatrics Community together. If you have a commercial announcement or advertisement, find a Classified Ads related site. This forum is NOT an online marketplace to list products, services or job opportunities nor is it an online opportunity to promote your business or marketing opportunities. We are here to discuss your weight loss surgery concerns prior, during and after surgery.
Third, decency is human nature. We do not tolerate offensive, malicious or sexually-inclined topics or messages as well as pictures or pornographic materials in this forum. These are going to be removed, deleted or may cause you to be banned from the forum. Should you have any appeals, negative reactions or clarifications, you are free to contact the administrator or the moderator of the forum where you're participating.
Fourth, stay on the topic. Forum categories are created to guide your posts and discussions. Please avoid derailing from what's being discussed and comment out a question like asking others where they got their avatar. While you can do this through PMs, this is highly discouraged during discussions. Open to a lot of possibilities for discussion, we are sure that your undeniable wit will keep you on track and with the right frame of mind.
Fifth, don’t be redundant. Kindly scan the titles of the other threads (or topics) before you create a new one. While it is exciting to start your own discussion, it is best to support and particpate with another, specially if it's going to refer to one thing. It would be easier for others to give comments too if that's the case.
Reminders: the moderators and site administrators monitor forum discussions and reserve the right to delete or lock threads or messages, or to block or ban—without notification, temporarily or permanently—members, especially the repeat offenders, from the forum that violate our House Rules. We also reserve the right to restrict your user permissions as we deem fit.
If you know a user that violates/has violated any of our Rules, or if you yourself have been “victimized” by their abuse or violation, kindly PM or email the moderator or the site administrator at once. We suggest that you include the username of the person and the specific post in question for us to verify your report or complaint. We can’t afford to be used by certain parties to just get on others.
